Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know

How PodBulk turns your PSD templates into bulk print-on-demand mockups — right in your browser, no Photoshop.

Getting started
Is PodBulk free? Is there a free plan?

Yes — there’s a free plan, no card needed. You get 50 mockups per month with no watermark, so you can try PodBulk on your real templates before deciding to upgrade. Paid plans add higher limits and extra features. See all plans.

Are my files safe? Do you store my designs or PSDs?

Your files never leave your browser. PodBulk renders everything locally on your own device. Your PSD templates, your design images, and the mockups you create are never uploaded to or stored on our servers — we never see, copy, or keep them. The finished mockups download straight to you.

Can I use the mockups commercially — to sell on Etsy, Shopify, and elsewhere?

Yes. You own your designs and the mockups you generate with PodBulk, and you’re free to use them commercially — for your Etsy, Shopify, Amazon, Printify, or any other store and marketing. Just make sure you have the rights to the design files and PSD templates you upload.

How is PodBulk different from the Photoshop Bulk Mockup script?

The old way needs Adobe Photoshop installed plus a script that only runs inside it. PodBulk needs neither:

  • No Photoshop — no license, no install, no subscription.
  • Runs in any modern browser, on any computer.
  • Just upload a PSD with a smart object and your designs — that’s it.

You get the same bulk-mockup result, without being tied to Photoshop.

Do I need Photoshop installed to use PodBulk?

No — you don’t need Photoshop at all. PodBulk runs entirely in your web browser. There’s nothing to install, no Photoshop license, and no design-software subscription. Open PodBulk, upload your files, and generate your mockups.

How does PodBulk create my mockups in bulk?

It’s simple: you bring a PSD template with a smart object layer, plus your design images. PodBulk places each of your designs into the smart object and renders a finished mockup — then repeats that automatically across every design and every template you upload, all in one batch.

So instead of opening a file, dropping in a design, exporting, and repeating one by one, you upload everything once and download a full set of mockups at the end.

Watch how it works
Can I make bulk mockups without Photoshop, using just a PSD?

Yes — that’s exactly what PodBulk is for. If you have a PSD mockup template with a smart object layer, you can generate bulk mockups from it without ever opening Photoshop. Upload your PSD templates and your designs, and PodBulk does the rest in your browser.

Can I bulk mockup my PSDs right in my browser?

Yes. That’s exactly what PodBulk does. There’s no install and no Photoshop — you upload your PSD templates and your design images, and generate all your mockups right in your browser.

I'm not a pro in Photoshop. Can I still use PodBulk? Will it be overwhelming?

You don’t need any Photoshop skills. PodBulk takes the technical part off your plate — upload your PSD templates and designs, click run, download your mockups.

We also have step-by-step guides for your first batch. See our guides to get started in minutes.

Templates & smart objects
Does PodBulk work with Photopea or Canva?

PodBulk uses the Photopea engine built right into your browser, so there’s nothing extra to set up and you don’t need Canva or any other editor. If you ever want to edit or fix a PSD template first, you can open it for free at photopea.com, then upload it to PodBulk.

Does PodBulk work without a full or licensed Photoshop?

You don’t need Photoshop at all — licensed or otherwise. PodBulk doesn’t rely on Photoshop being installed. Everything runs in your browser, so there’s no software to buy, install, or update. All you need is a PSD template with a smart object layer.

What mockup templates are supported by PodBulk?

PodBulk works with almost any print-on-demand mockup template. As long as your PSD has a smart object layer for the design area, PodBulk can use it. You can even make your own templates — we have easy guides for that.

Common supported templates include: framed posters, canvas, t-shirts, tops, hoodies, all-over-print shirts, leggings, caps, bottles, mugs, tote bags, phone cases, masks, blankets, towels, and more.

How do complex PSD templates work in PodBulk?

A simple PSD has one smart object — PodBulk detects it automatically and fills it with your design. Nothing for you to configure.

A complex PSD has more going on — multiple smart objects, masks, or shadow and highlight layers. PodBulk still handles these: you just tell it which smart object to fill by entering its layer name, and the masks and shadows stay layered correctly on top of your design.

See the complex PSD guide for a full walkthrough.

What if my PSD has two (or more) smart objects inside?

No problem. When a PSD has more than one smart object — for example a front and a back, or several print zones — you simply enter the layer name of the smart object you want PodBulk to fill. PodBulk targets that exact layer and places your design there, leaving the others untouched.

What if I only want to swap one smart object out of many in my PSD?

That’s fully supported. Turn on the custom smart object layer name option, type the name of the one layer you want to swap, and PodBulk fills only that smart object with your design. Every other smart object and layer in the file stays exactly as it is.

Tip: if you’re using a custom layer name, run a quick test with 1 PSD and 1 design first to confirm PodBulk picked the right layer before running a full batch.

What file formats can I export? (JPEG, PNG, PSD)

You can export your finished mockups as JPEG, PNG, or PSD. JPEG is fastest and great for listings; PNG keeps transparency; PSD gives you the full layered file. You pick the format before you run your batch.

Can I create and use my own PSD templates?

Yes. Any PSD you make works with PodBulk as long as it has a smart object layer for the design area. Build your own templates, name the smart object, upload them, and PodBulk fills them just like any other template.

Does PodBulk automatically adjust the design size?

Yes. PodBulk automatically fits your designs to each template’s print area. You choose how it’s placed — stretch to fill, or fit while keeping the original ratio — so it works cleanly across all your templates.

Watch the quick tutorial to see the fit options.

Plans, speed & support
How many mockups can I make per month?

It depends on your plan. The free plan includes 50 mockups per month, and paid plans scale up from there — all the way to 8,000 per month on Pro. Limits reset each billing period. See the full breakdown on pricing.

Do I need a fast computer? What are the requirements?

You just need a modern web browser — no special hardware. Because rendering happens on your own device, a faster computer simply produces mockups faster. Any reasonably recent laptop or desktop works fine; if you need maximum speed for very large batches, ask us about the faster service at contact@podbulk.com.

Which browsers does PodBulk support?

PodBulk works in all modern browsers — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. For the smoothest experience on large batches, keep your browser up to date and keep the PodBulk tab active while it renders.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, cancel anytime from your account billing portal. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period and simply won’t renew after that — no further charges.

How long does it take to make one mockup?

There are two parts:

  • Connecting to the server — about 10–30 seconds, once per session, depending on your PC.
  • Each mockup — about 3–15 seconds, depending on your PC and how complex the PSD is.

On an optimal machine you can generate around 200 mockups in about 10 minutes. If you’re looking for an even faster service, contact our support at contact@podbulk.com.

Do you have a faster service than the in-browser one?

Yes, we do. For users who need to generate large volumes even faster, we offer a faster processing option. Reach out and we’ll set you up — email contact@podbulk.com.

Can I request a feature? Is there something you wish PodBulk could do?

Absolutely — we want to hear your ideas. If there’s a feature you wish PodBulk had, send it to us at contact@podbulk.com. When we receive an idea, we genuinely try our hardest to see if we can build it.

And if we do build a feature you suggested, you get our Pro plan free for 3 years as a thank-you for helping shape PodBulk.

Do you offer support if I need help?

Yes! Customer support is a top priority and we’ll do our best to resolve any issue you run into. Reach us through our contact page or email contact@podbulk.com.

Do you have a refund policy?

We offer a free plan so you can try PodBulk before paying — we recommend starting there to make sure it fits your workflow.

Paid plans are billed monthly and are non-refundable, but you can cancel anytime. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of your current billing period and won’t renew after that. See our refund policy for full details.
